A resolution authorizing the Department of Law to accept $17,758.12 in compromise and settlement of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County's personal injury claim against Ron Walters.

Whereas, on September 8, 2004, Mr. Ron Walters rear-ended a Metropolitan Public Works parking meter vehicle which had slowed to merge onto James Robinson Parkway, injuring Public Works employee Jennifer Evans; and

Whereas, after investigation, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that the claim be compromised and settled in the amount of $17,758.12.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to accept the amount of $17,758.12 in compromise and settlement of the personal injury claim against Ron Walters, and said funds shall be deposited into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
