RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-1025
A resolution approving an application for a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the benefit of the Nashville Public Library, to replace public access computers.
WHEREAS, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is accepting applications for grants to replace public access computers, with an award of $133,500; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the application for a grant to replace public access computers, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and said application is authorized to be submitted to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
