A resolution accepting a direct appropriation of $655,000 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to the Davidson County Drug Court, a part of the State Trial Courts of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the continued operation and services of the Davidson County Drug Court.

WHEREAS, the fiscal year 2004-2005 budget for the State of Tennessee included a nonrecurring direct appropriation of $655,000 to the Davidson County Drug Court for the sole purpose of continuing operation and services; and

WHEREAS, this direct appropriation from the State of Tennessee imposes no obligation upon the Metropolitan Government upon the acceptance of the appropriation, other than the funds must be used for the continued operation and services of the Davidson County Drug Court program; and

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this direct appropriation be accepted and appropriated to the State Trial Courts for the continued operation and services of the Davidson County Drug Court.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the direct appropriation in the amount of $655,000 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to the Davidson County Drug Court, a part of the State Trial Courts of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the continued operation and services of the Davidson County Drug Court is hereby accepted and said amount is hereby appropriated to the State Trial Courts based on the revenues estimated to be received.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
