RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-568

A resolution recognizing Mrs. Sarah Eubanks for her service with Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Sarah Eubanks, School Crossing Guard, retired after thirty-two years of faithful service to the community and is well deserving of recognition; and

WHEREAS, under the watchfulness of Mrs. Eubanks, a reliable and diligent crossing guard, many children prior to and at the conclusion of the school day at Glenn Enhanced Option have benefited from her countless hours of dedicated service to keep our children out of harms way during inclement weather or when traffic hazards occur; and

WHEREAS, Crossing guards provide an invaluable service to our community in ensuring the safety of our children in route to and from school, encouraging students to cross at proper intersections and providing information regarding pedestrian and bicycle safety; and

WHEREAS, not only is it with great sadness that the Metropolitan Police Department School Crossing Section is losing a great crossing guard, but a friendly face and fine friend to the many students who she has helped throughout her tenure; and

WHEREAS, this remarkable lady maintains a wonderful attitude and outlook on life while having selflessly given her time and energy, as a public servant which is an inspiration to all who know her, and wish her much success in the future.

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Mrs. Sarah Eubanks for her service in protecting her communities most precious resource, our children.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mrs. Sarah Eubanks for her service with Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mrs. Sarah Eubanks.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
