A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the claims of Henry Langford, Jr. and Yvonne Langford against The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the amount of $22,000, and directing that this amount be paid from the Self Insured Liability Account.

Whereas, a lawsuit based on claims of negligence was filed by the plaintiffs in the Sixth Circuit Court for Davidson County, Tennessee; and

Whereas, after investigation, the Department of Law believes the settlement amount as set forth in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that this case be compromised and settled for a total amount of $22,000, to be paid from the Self Insured Liability Account.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. The Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the lawsuit styled, Henry Langford and Yvonne Langford v. Eric Crawford, Metropolitan Police Department and Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, No. 02C-661 in the Sixth Circuit Court for Davidson County, Tennessee for the total sum of $22,000, and directing that this amount be paid from the Self Insured Liability account.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
