RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-466
A resolution recognizing Eddie George former Tennessee Titan.
WHEREAS, Eddie George, former running back of the Tennessee Titans has shown himself time and again to be a warrior on the field of play, a true gentleman and a compassionate and caring individual in his everyday interactions with his family, friends, and the public; and
WHEREAS, a champion on and off the field, Mr. George has succeeded in life by always focusing on his goal when faced with a seemingly insurmountable challenge; and
WHEREAS, Eddie George’s hard work has been rewarded as a respected All-American and Heisman Trophy Award winner from Ohio State University, was a fourteenth pick in the NFL draft, a highly respected and recognized All-Pro running back, a member of the 2000 American Football Conference Championship team and led the franchise Tennessee Titans to Super Bowl XXIV in Atlanta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, throughout his tenure as a Tennessee Titan, Eddie George demonstrated the utmost professionalism, ability and integrity, winning the respect and admiration of his teammates, coaches and his biggest supporters, his fans; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Eddie George for his work in the communities of Tennessee and City of Nashville, and wish him much continued success in all his future endeavors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Eddie George former Tennessee Titan.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a printed scroll to be presented to Eddie George.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
