A resolution approving a contract by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, and the Metropolitan Department of Health, for the Department of Health to provide vaccinations, testing, and x-rays to Department of Children’s Services employees, and receive payment for the same.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council by Resolution No. RS2000-283 previously approved a contract by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, and the Metropolitan Department of Health, pursuant to which the Department of Health provided testing, x-rays, and vaccination to employees of the Department of Children’s Services, and the Department of Health received payment for the same, which contract expired June 30, 2004; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Department of Health and State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, wish to enter into a similar contract (the “Contract”), to expire on June 30, 2009; and

WHEREAS, this Contract provides for the Metropolitan Department of Health to administer Hepatitis B vaccines, Tuberculosis risk assessments and skin tests, and chest x-rays to employees of the Department of Children’s Services; and

WHEREAS, this Contract provides for payment to the Metropolitan Department of Health not to exceed $16,785.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the contract by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, and the Metropolitan Department of Health, for the Department of Health testing, vaccination, and x-ray of Department of Children’s Services employees, and receipt of payment therefor, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
