A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the Metropolitan Medical Response System sustainment program.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the United States Department of Health and Human Services for the Metropolitan Medical Response System sustainment program, which agreement was approved by Resolution No. 2003-25; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to extend the term of the grant until May 31, 2005, and to substitute the Federal Emergency Management Agency in for the Department of Health and Human Services, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved, and the grant extended.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant by and between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, now the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the Metropolitan Medical Response System sustainment program, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
