A resolution approving the compromise and settlement of the lawsuit of the Metropolitan Government against Clematris Ashley Jarrett and Clement Jarrett for the amount of $15,000.

Whereas, on September 17, 2002, Metropolitan Government employee Eddie J. Walker was injured in a vehicle collision whereby a vehicle driven by Clematris Ashley Jarrett struck him, thereby causing injury to Mr. Walker and resulting in the Metropolitan Government’s payment of Mr. Walker’s medical bills and injury-on-duty pay; and

Whereas, as a result of this collision, the Metropolitan Government filed a lawsuit against the Clematris Ashley Jarrett and her parent Clement Jarrett; and

Whereas, after a thorough investigation of this incident, the Department of Law believes that the settlement set forth in Section 1 below is fair and reasonable, and recommends that the this lawsuit be compromised and settled for the amount of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000), and that these funds be deposited into the appropriate fund account as determined by the Department of Finance.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to accept fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) to compromise and settle the lawsuit of the Metropolitan Government against Clematris Ashley Jarrett and Clement Jarrett, and to deposit said funds into the appropriate fund account as determined by the Department of Finance.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
