A resolution authorizing the compromise and settlement of the claim of Kennetha Boyd against the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the amount of $16,000.00 and directing that this amount be paid from the Self Insured Liability Fund.

WHEREAS, on November 5, 2003, Metropolitan Public Works employee, Joseph Mangrum, was responsible for a vehicular accident causing physical injury to Kennetha Boyd; and

WHEREAS, after investigation, the Department of Law believes the settlement amount as set forth in Section 1 below is fair and reasonable, and recommends that this case be compromised and settled, and that said amount be paid from the Self Insured Liability Fund.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: The Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the claim of Kenneth Boyd for the total sum of sixteen thousand dollars ($16,000), and directs that this amount be paid from the Self Insured Liability Fund.

Section 2: This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
