A resolution authorizing the Director of Finance to carry forward and appropriate funds for the Disparity Study.

WHEREAS, Substitute Ordinance No. BL2004-256 authorized the Director of Finance to carry forward and appropriate in Fiscal Year 2005 and subsequent fiscal years any unencumbered and unexpended funds at June 30, 2003 for non-recurring appropriations for the Metro Disparity Study until such funds are expended for intended purposes subject to approval by the Council by resolution; and

WHEREAS, BL2002-1073 appropriated $300,000 to conduct a disparity study; and

WHERAS, the disparity study is not complete and will require the full amount of the original appropriation to complete its work; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has determined that the portion of the original appropriation that remains unencumbered and unexpended on June 30, 2004 should be carried forward and appropriated in Fiscal Year 2005 for the purpose of the Metro Disparity Study; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the Metropolitan Government that these funds be so carried forward and appropriated.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Director of Finance is authorized to carry forward and appropriate in Fiscal Year 2005 the unencumbered and unexpended balance from the $300,000 appropriation authorized in BL2002-1073 for the Metro Disparity Study.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
