RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-404
A resolution approving a cooperative agreement to amend a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Board of Health, to characterize ambient concentrations of hazardous air pollutants.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Board of Health, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the United States Environmental Protection Agency, pursuant to which the Metropolitan Government was awarded a grant not to exceed $107,053 to characterize ambient concentrations of hazardous air pollutants, for the term of April 1, 2003, through September 30, 2004, which Grant Agreement was approved by the Metropolitan Council by Resolution No. 2003-1533; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement, as provided in the Cooperative Agreement Number 97476103-1 (“Cooperative Agreement”), a copy of which is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, Cooperative Agreement increases the original grant amount by $261,420, increasing the amount of the grant to the Metropolitan Government to an amount not to exceed $368,473; and,
WHEREAS, the Cooperative Agreement extends the term of the grant until September 30, 2005; and
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted, and the amending Cooperative Agreement approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Cooperative Agreement grant by and between the United States Environmental Protection Agency, providing for an increased amount not to exceed $368,473 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Board of Health, and extending the term until September 30, 2005, to characterize ambient concentrations of hazardous air pollutants, a copy of which Cooperative Agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Department of Health, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
