RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-402

A resolution approving a contract for the privatization of the Information Technologies division of Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital’s Information Technologies and Telecommunications Department to McKesson Automation Incorporated.

WHEREAS, the Hospital Authority for Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County (“Hospital Authority”), in its meeting on June 29, 2004, determined that it will be financially and systemically advantageous to contract with an outside vendor for the information technology services currently provided to Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital (MNGH) by the Information Technologies division of its Information Technologies and Telecommunications Department; and

WHEREAS, a contract has been procured with McKesson Automation Incorporated (“McKesson”) for the provision of information technology services, a copy of which is attached hereto (the “contract”); and

WHEREAS, Section 4.12.095 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws requires that contracts providing for privatizing governmental services must be approved by resolution of Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the contract by and between the Hospital Authority and McKesson for privatization of the services currently provided by the Information Technologies division of MNGH’s Information Technologies and Telecommunications Department, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
