RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-398

A resolution accepting a grant from the National Insurance Crime Bureau to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County of vehicles and equipment, on a temporary or permanent basis, for the benefit of the Metropolitan Police Department and use thereby in sting operations and in the investigation of insurance related crimes.

WHEREAS, the National Insurance Crime Bureau has awarded a grant of vehicles and equipment on a temporary or permanent basis to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the use and benefit of the Metropolitan Police Department; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the National Insurance Crime Bureau, of vehicles and equipment on a temporary or permanent basis, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the benefit of the Metropolitan Police Department and use thereby in sting operations and for investigation of insurance related crimes, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
