A resolution recognizing Barbara C. Murrell the Director and Founder of the Realsports Leadership Academy.

WHEREAS, Barbara C. Murrell, Director and Founder of the Realsports Leadership Academy is a truly remarkable person; and

WHEREAS, Realsports Leadership Academy is a four week pre-college summer program offered at Fisk University that provides a student athlete a head start in preparation for college by enhancing the basic academic areas; and

WHEREAS, this program prepares the student athletes with the knowledge, understanding and strategies necessary to be successful in college academics and sports; and

WHEREAS, Realsports Leadership Academy provides a college learning environment, strong academic support, successful professional athletic role models and seminars with athletic administrators and coaches; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Barbara C. Murrell for her dedication, energy, vision and hard work.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Barbara C. Murrell the Director and Founder of the Realsports Leadership Academy.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Barbara C. Murrel.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
