RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-381

A resolution recognizing and congratulating Hillsboro High School teacher, Mary Catherine Bradshaw on being named the 2004-2005 “High School Teacher of the Year” for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

WHEREAS, Mary Catherine Bradshaw, educator at Hillsboro High School, has devoted her career to providing the highest quality education for Tennessee’s students and is well deserving of this recognition; and

WHEREAS, a native Nashvillian, Mary Catherine Bradshaw is a product of the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System during her elementary school years before switching to Indep Schools; and

WHEREAS, upon graduating from Vanderbilt University, she began her educational career teaching at Franklin Road Academy, eventually coming to Hillsboro High School in 1984; and

WHEREAS, Mary Catherine Bradshaw brings enthusiasm and energy to her students, has an excellent repertoire of teaching strategies, creativity, innovation, and vision that has brought invaluable assets to not only the classroom but to Hillsboro High School; and

WHEREAS, she has received several awards and recognition during her teaching career and is actively involved in her community; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Mary Catherine Bradshaw on receiving the “High School Teacher of the Year” award and commend her exceptional service to her students, salute her professional expertise and wish her all the best.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing and congratulating Hillsboro High School teacher, Mary Catherine Bradshaw on being named the 2004-2005 “High School Teacher of the Year” for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mary Catherine Bradshaw.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
