A resolution recognizing Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vickers on the grand occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

WHEREAS, saluting the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vickers, who have shared fifty (50) happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a memorable occasion worthy of honor, praise and celebration; and

WHEREAS, this extraordinary couple celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, amongst God, their family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Joe and Mary Catherine were united in holy matrimony on June 2, 1954, and began their life together; and

WHEREAS, to the union was born a wonderful and devoted child, Debbie, who has grown and developed into a highly achieving upstanding citizen of the community; and

WHEREAS, because Joe and Mary Catherine were both reared under the principles and precepts of strong families, routed and grounded in the Bible, these two individuals sought to rear their child in the teachings of the Lord; and

WHEREAS, the Vickers have been blessed with three grand children and one great grand child; and

WHEREAS, Joe has served as a minister of the Cumberland Presbytery for over thirty-five years, while for over twenty-eight years Mary Catherine was a school secretary for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, along with being that solid reassuring homemaker who has always been there as a support for her daughter and her husband; and

WHEREAS, Joe has been a comforting minister to many families no matter their church association in time of need; and

WHEREAS, the dedication, patience, wisdom, and understanding that they demonstrate on a daily basis have provided a firm foundation in which all of their family members have developed and flourished; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes and salutes Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vickers for their many decades of unyielding strength and unparalleled inspiration, congratulate them upon the joyous occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary, and extend my very best wishes for continued health, happiness and well being.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vickers on the grand occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
