RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-377

A resolution recognizing Jerry C. Fawcett upon his retirement from service with the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, effective June 30, 2004, Jerry C. Fawcett retired from the Metropolitan Planning Commission after thirty-three years of dedicated, competent and efficient service; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Fawcett dedicated his career to the Metropolitan Government, by serving as Planner and Senior Planner, Manager of Current Planning Division, Manager of Community Plans Division and Manager of the Planning Departments Design Studio; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Fawcett has enhanced the quality of life for the Nashville community through his professionalism, his commitment and his dedication to identifying and meeting the needs of those who use the services of the Metropolitan Planning Commission; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure he has witnessed many changes within the planning system; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Fawcett’s experience, knowledge and management skills will be missed not only for his planning experience but for his positive leadership role in developing innovative programs; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Jerry C. Fawcett for his service to the citizens of Nashville and wish him well on his retirement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Jerry C. Fawcett upon his retirement from service with the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Jerry C. Fawcett.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
