A resolution approving an agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Health, and Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry for the provision of dental services to patients of the Downtown Clinic.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Charter provides that it is the duty of the Department of Health to contract with public and private institutions for services that will further the Department’s program and policies, subject to confirmation by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Health has entered into an agreement (the “Agreement”) with Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry for the provision of dental services to patients of the Downtown Clinic; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Health, and Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry for the provision of dental services to patients of the Downtown Clinic at a cost not to exceed Thirty Eight Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($38,500.), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
