A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in an amount not to exceed $14,395.86, to coordinate the purchase and demolition of flood prone properties.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars and Eighty-Six Cents ($14,395.86.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to coordinate the purchase and demolition of flood prone properties; and,

WHEREAS, said grant requires matching funds to be provided by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in the amount of One Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars and Thirty-Seven Cents ($1,475.37); and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, in an amount not to exceed Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars and Eighty-Six Cents ($14,395.86.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to coordinate the purchase and demolition of flood prone properties, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant for fiscal year 2003/2004, not to exceed Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars and Eighty-Six Cents ($14,395.86.) be appropriated to the Office of Emergency Management in that fiscal year’s budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
