A resolution approving an application for a grant from the United States Department of Labor to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to improve the capacity of faith and community-based organizations to provide workforce development services.

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Labor is accepting applications for the Employment Training Administration Grant for Workforce Investment Boards, with a projected award of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.); and,

WHEREAS, the Nashville Career Advancement Center is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s application, by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, for the Employment Training Administration Grant for Workforce Investment Boards for a grant award of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.) to improve the capacity of faith and community-based organizations to provide workforce development services, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and said application is authorized to be submitted.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
