RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-284

A resolution recognizing and congratulating Shwab Elementary School teacher, Kathleen (Kathy) C. Fasig on being named the 2004-2005 “Elementary School Teacher of the Year” for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

WHEREAS, Kathleen (Kathy) C. Fasig, educator at Shwab Elementary School, has devoted her career to providing the highest quality education for Tennessee’s students and is well deserving of this recognition; and

WHEREAS, a native Nashvillian, Kathleen C. Fasig is a product of the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System; and

WHEREAS, upon graduating from Tennessee State University, she began her educational career teaching at Warner Elementary, before coming to Shwab Elementary in 1979 were she has taught some of our youngest at both 1st Grade and Kindergarten levels; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen C. Fasig brings enthusiasm and energy to her students, has an excellent repertoire of teaching strategies, creativity, innovation, and vision that has brought invaluable assets to not only the classroom but to Shwab Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, she has received several awards and recognition during her teaching career and is actively involved in her community; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Kathleen (Kathy) C. Fasig on receiving the “Elementary Teacher of the Year” award and commend her exceptional service to her students, salute her professional expertise and wish her all the best.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing and congratulating Shwab Elementary School teacher, Kathleen (Kathy) C. Fasig on being named the 2004-2005 “Elementary School Teacher of the Year” for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Kathleen C. Fasig.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
