A resolution recognizing and congratulating Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., upon its 20th Anniversary.

WHEREAS, the 20th Anniversary of Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., will be celebrated on Friday, May 7, 2004; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that businesses in Tennessee that have provided their services for many years, stand as a testament to the values of hard work and dedication held by their owners and employees and Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., is one such business which is celebrating its 20th year of incorporation; and

WHEREAS, Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., was founded by Mr. John Doss and Mr. Tom Givens in May of 1984, starting in an office complex on White Bridge Road with five employees including themselves, and has grown into a nationally recognized business now located on West End Avenue with over 350 employees; and

WHEREAS, Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., has made a name for themselves as innovators in healthcare technology among hospital information technology providers; and

WHEREAS, Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., has been molded into a company that develops, sells and supports integrated, single source, hospital information systems; and

WHEREAS, through the hard work and dedication of its employees, Healthcare Management Systems Inc., has established itself as a fierce competitor among companies that are much larger in terms of employees and revenue; and

WHEREAS, they have gained recognition for their work and performance in the Nashville business community, have received several distinguished awards and are members of the Nashville Chamber, Nashville Healthcare Council and the Nashville Technology Council; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Healthcare Management Systems Inc., upon its 20th Anniversary, and salute their commitment to excellence and extend to them wishes for future success.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing and congratulating Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., upon its 20th Anniversary.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Healthcare Management Systems Inc.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
