A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Board of Health, increasing the grant by an amount not to exceed $426,500., for an array of health programs and services.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, pursuant to which the Metropolitan Government was awarded a grant for an array of health programs and services, not to exceed Six Million, Six Hundred Eighty-Nine Thousand, Six Hundred Fifty-Three Dollars ($6,689,653.), which Grant Agreement was approved by the Metropolitan Council by Resolution 2003-1537; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement, as provided in Amendment No. 1, a copy of which is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 adds Four Hundred Twenty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($426,500.) to the original grant amount, increasing the amount of the grant to the Metropolitan Government to an amount not to exceed Seven Million One Hundred Sixteen Thousand One Hundred Fifty-Three Dollars ($7,116,153.); and,

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That Amendment No. 1 to the Grant Agreement grant by and between the State of Tennessee providing for an additional amount not to exceed Four Hundred Twenty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($426,500.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for a variety of local health services, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the additional amount of this grant for fiscal year 2003/2004, not to exceed Four Hundred Twenty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($426,500.) be appropriated to the Metropolitan Health Department in this fiscal year’s budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
