A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Department of Health, in an amount not to exceed $513,700., to provide HIV/AIDS prevention and surveillance services.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Thirteen Thousand, Seven Hundred Dollars ($513,700.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Health, to provide HIV/AIDS prevention and surveillance services; and,

WHEREAS, said grant does not require matching funds to be provided by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and,

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Thirteen Thousand, Seven Hundred Dollars ($513,700.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Health, to provide HIV/AIDS prevention and surveillance services, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant for fiscal year 2003/2004, not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand, Eight Hundred Fifty Dollars ($256,850.), and the amount of this grant for fiscal year 2004/2005, not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand, Eight Hundred Fifty Dollars ($256,850.), be appropriated to the Metropolitan Health Department in the respective fiscal years, based on the revenues estimated to be received.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
