A resolution accepting a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in an amount not to exceed $151,439., to maintain and strengthen a comprehensive air pollution program.
Whereas, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty-One Thousand, Four Hundred Thirty-Nine Dollars ($151,439.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to maintain and strengthen a comprehensive air pollution program; and,
Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
Now, therefore be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the grant by and between the United States Environmental Protection Agency in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty-One Thousand, Four Hundred Thirty-Nine Dollars ($151,439.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to be matched by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County with One Hundred Sixteen Thousand, Two Hundred Twenty-Two Dollars ($116,222.), to maintain and strengthen a comprehensive air pollution program, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant for fiscal year 2004/2005, not to exceed One Hundred Thirteen Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-Nine Dollars ($113,579.), and the amount of this grant for fiscal year 2005/2006, not to exceed Thirty-Seven Thousand, Eight Hundred Sixty Dollars ($37,860.), be appropriated to the Metropolitan Health Department in the respective fiscal years’ budgets, based on the revenues estimated to be received.
Section 3. That the sum of Eighty-Seven Thousand, One Hundred Sixty-Seven Dollars ($87,167.) be provided for fiscal year 2004/2005, and the sum of Twenty-Nine Thousand, Fifty-Five Dollars ($29,055.) be provided for the fiscal year 2005/2006, for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s matching funds for this grant.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
