A resolution approving an application for a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Fire Department, to upgrade the Department’s breathing apparatus.

Whereas, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is accepting applications for the FEMA Fire ACT 05 Grant, with an award of Two Hundred Thirty-Eight Thousand, Six Hundred and Ninety-Three Dollars ($238,693.); and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Fire Department is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

Now, therefore be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Fire Department’s application for the FEMA Fire Act 05 Grant for a grant award of Two Hundred Thirty-Eight Thousand, Six Hundred and Ninety-Three Dollars ($238,693.) to upgrade the Department’s breathing apparatus, a paper copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Department is authorized to submit said application in paper and/or electronic format, as elected by the Department.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
