RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-225

A resolution proclaiming the celebration day of the 150th Anniversary of the City of Goodlettsville as Monday, April 12th, 2004.

WHEREAS, on Monday, April 12th, 2004, the City of Goodlettsville will host a celebration to commemorate their 150th Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, community leaders, families, friends, and citizens of Davidson County are invited to gather on the grounds of City Hall to celebrate with live music, period costumes and dramatic readings; and

WHEREAS, the citizens and business owners of Goodlettsville currently enjoy and benefit from the strong leadership of Mayor Bobby Jones, Vice Mayor Johnny Long, and Commissioners Jerry Garrett, Jim Driver, and Jeff Cordell; and

WHEREAS, through the years, Goodlettsville’s fine leaders have facilitated the City’s growth, guiding its citizens and business owners toward economic prosperity, while striving to maintain the sense of community that makes living in Goodlettsville such an unique experience; and

WHEREAS, the City of Goodlettsville is a great place to work, live and raise a family; and

WHEREAS, the City of Goodlettsville is rich in history and tradition; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes this fine municipality and its citizenry as they commemorate this significant milestone in their historic existence and congratulate the citizens of the City of Goodlettsville upon their celebration of their 150th anniversary.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as proclaiming the celebration day of the 150th Anniversary of the City of Goodlettsville as Monday, April 12th, 2004.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to the Mayor of Goodlettsville Bobby Jones on behalf of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
