A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in an amount not to exceed $224,910. to prepare first responders for weapons of mass destruction and terrorist incidents involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive devices.
Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ten Dollars ($224,910.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to prepare first responders for weapons of mass destruction and terrorist incidents involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive devices; and,
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
Now, therefore be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ten Dollars ($224,910.) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to prepare first responders for weapons of mass destruction and terrorist incidents involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive devices, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant for the current fiscal year is hereby appropriated to the Office of Emergency Management in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
