A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Government to accept grant funds from the Junior League of Nashville to help underwrite the costs of the Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth; and, authorizing the appropriation of those funds to the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth for that purpose.
WHEREAS, the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth will be holding its second Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth this year; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth is to bring policymakers, experts, youth and advocates together to analyze the key issues facing our city’s children and young people; and
WHEREAS, the Junior League of Nashville has agreed to help underwrite the costs of the Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth through a grant of $5,000.00; and
WHEREAS, on November 19, 2002, the Metropolitan Council approved Ordinance No. BL2002-1186 authorizing the approval of grants requiring Council approval via resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson
County is hereby authorized to accept grant funds from the Junior League
of Nashville
to help underwrite the costs of the Mayor’s Summit on Children and
Youth.
SECTION 2. That the $5,000 grant pledged by the Junior League of Nashville,
when received, shall be appropriated to the Mayor’s Office of Children
and Youth to cover expenses related to the Mayor’s Summit on Children
and Youth.
SECTION 3. That the $5,000 grant pledged by the Junior League of Nashville, when received, shall be appropriated to the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth, Fund No. BU04101050.
SECTION 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
