A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Council to contract for financial consulting services to assist in the adoption of the operating budget for fiscal year 2004-05.
WHEREAS, the Chairperson of the Budget & Finance Committee desires to have financial consulting services to assist in the review and adoption of the operating budget for next year; and
WHEREAS, any consultant providing such services shall have a degree in accounting or finance, be a certified public accountant, and have experience in government accounting and/or auditing; and
WHEREAS, approximately $30,000 should be sufficient to fund the cost of these services; and
WHEREAS, a Request For Proposal (RFP) setting out the qualifications and services required shall be developed and issued as soon as practical for the consulting services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby authorizes the employment of financial consulting services to assist in the review and adoption of the operating budget for 2004-05. Such consulting services shall be contracted for based upon a response to a RFP. The Executive Committee of the Council shall oversee the criteria for the RFP, the final contract terms, and selection of the consultant.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
