A resolution recognizing the 2003-2004 Hillsboro Comprehensive High School “Burros” Football Team.

WHEREAS, the Hillsboro Comprehensive High School “Burros” football team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence in boys’ football with equal emphasis on character and academics; and

WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another successful season of football competition by advancing to the state playoffs for the fourth consecutive year culminating in there winning the Region 5 Class 4A state championship; and

WHEREAS, the team compiled a phenomenal record of 55 wins and 4 loses over a four year period representing three (3) state final appearances and one semi-final appearance; and

WHEREAS, the “Burros” were led by Head Coach Ronald Aydelott, and Assistant Coaches Jay Gore, Terry Hemontolor, Richard Herzog, Moses Phillips and Ty Finch who exemplified the commitment and dedication necessary to lead this group of young men to the afore mentioned accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, this years team produced four (4) all state performances, Calvin Bryant, Brad Doss, Walter Fisher, Jr., Marcellus Tibbs and from this group Walter Fisher, Jr., was selected as the 4A state Mr. Football lineman of the year, an honor given to the player who exemplifies superior football skills, sportsmanship and superior physical abilities as a lineman; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned its well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality of its play, and the stiff competition which it presented its opponents; and

WHEREAS, in order to further acknowledge this success of the Hillsboro High Football Team it is fitting and proper that we proclaim Friday, March 12, 2004, as “Burros” day; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the Hillsboro Comprehensive High School “Burros” Football Team on their outstanding season, athletic achievement and wish them continued success in the future.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 2003-2004 Hillsboro Comprehensive High School “Burros” Football Team.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Head Coach Ronald Aydelott, his coaching staff and members of the team.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
