RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-165

A resolution authorizing the Mayor to submit an application for a Waste Reduction Grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Department of Public Works.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee is accepting applications for Waste Reduction Grants; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Department of Public Works is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee requires that the grant application be approved by resolution, motion, or similar act of the applicant’s governing body; and,

WHEREAS, this grant application was conditionally approved and submitted pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws § 2.08.045; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to submit an application for the Waste Reduction Grant, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.

Section 2. That funds for any required match of dollars received shall be provided through the budget of the Metropolitan Department of Public Works.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

ADMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-165

Mr. President:

I move to amend Resolution No. RS2004-165 by deleting the words, “the budget of the Metropolitan Department of Public Works” in Section 2 of said resolution and in its place thereof inserting the words “the proper bond fund of the Metropolitan Government.”
