RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-156

A resolution approving application for and acceptance of a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management to develop and implement a local Citizens Corps Council strategy for the promotion of Citizen Corp activities and programs.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed six thousand, eight hundred fourteen dollars ($6,814) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management to develop and implement a local Citizens Corps Council strategy for the promotion of Citizen Corp activities and programs; and

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the grant be accepted.

Now, therefore be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the application for the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, in an amount not to exceed six thousand, eight hundred fourteen dollars ($6,814) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management, to develop and implement a local Citizens Corps Council strategy for the promotion of Citizen Corp activities and programs, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Office of Emergency Management in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Mr. President:

I move to amend Resolution No. RS2004-156 by:

1. Amending the caption by deleting the words “application for and.”

2. Amending Section 1 by deleting the words “the application for.”

3. Further amending Section 1 by deleting the word “approved” at the end of the section and replacing it with the word “accepted.”
