RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-146

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed nineteen nine hundred sixty-nine dollars ($19,969) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management for Community Emergency Response Teams to increase the citizens' ability to prepare for an emergency or disaster and such grant was approved and accepted by The Metropolitan Council by resolution (Resolution No. RS2003-1573); and,

Whereas, the parties, by mutual agreement, wish to amend the contract by deleting paragraph A.5 in its entirety and replacing it with a new paragraph which sets a new quarter period and sets new dates for the Metropolitan Government to submit reports, and

Whereas, the parties, by mutual agreement, wish to amend the contract by deleting paragraph B.1 in its entirety and replacing it with a new paragraph changing the term of the contract from the original term beginning January 1, 2003 and ending December 31, 2003 to a new term beginning January 1, 2003 and ending June 30, 2004;

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the contract be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by The Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the amendment to the Grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management, which amendment provides for a change in the quarter period, new due dates for reports and a new term for the contract, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
