RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-145

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant for support of evaluation and enhancement of existing local emergency operations plans and terrorism incident annexes between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed forty thousand dollars ($40,000) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management for Community Emergency Response Teams to support the evaluation and enhancement of existing local emergency operations plans and terrorism incident annexes and such grant was approved and accepted by The Metropolitan Council by resolution (Resolution No. RS2003-1574) and;

Whereas, the parties, by mutual agreement, wish to amend the contract by deleting paragraph B.1 in its entirety and replacing it with a new paragraph which changes the term of the contract from the original term starting January 1, 2003 and ending December 30, 2003 to a new term starting January 1, 2003 and ending June 30, 2004;

Whereas, the parties, by mutual agreement, wish to amend the contract by deleting attachment A in its entirety and replacing it with attachment A-1;

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the contract be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by The Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the amendment to the Grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management, which amendment provides for a new term and for the replacement of attachment A with attachment A-1, a copy of which amendment is attached and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
