RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-132


A resolution recognizing the 2003 Una Pee Wee Bears Football Team.


WHEREAS, the Una Pee Wee Bears Football Team is compiled of five and six year olds based out of the Una Recreation Center and are members of the Mid-State Youth Football League; and

WHEREAS, this superlative team completed an ultra successful season of football competition by marching through their opponents and posting an impressive record of thirteen (13) wins and one (1) loss; and

WHEREAS, the Una Pee Wee Bears Football Team is to be commended for their efforts and performance during the season, and their efforts recognized at the 2003 Music City Bowl held December 31, 2003, at the Coliseum; and

WHEREAS, the Una Pee Wee Bears defeated the Gra-Mar Pirates to win their second straight Chattanooga Choo Choo Bowl Championship, they won their second straight Mid-State Youth Football Championship and the inaugural Music City Youth Classic Championship; and

WHEREAS, the dedication, determination, work ethic, and talent of this group of young men: Ronald Cleveland, Austin Meyer, Brandon Childs, Martravius Randall, Ugo Amandi, James Lytle, Jr., Elijah Pankey, Joseph Johnson, Dominic Dobson, Roy Hunter II, Jason Wilkerson, Jr., Garrett Buttrey, Charlie Davidson, Michael Beamon, Jr., Markeese Rucker, Curtis Holbert III, Brandon Adams, Erik Perkins, Marcus Graham, Aubrey Eubanks II, Immanuel Newsom, Alan Jackson, Aaquil Annoor, and Lajuan Ransom, Jr., who not only made possible a championship football season, but also surely bode well for their success in every future endeavor; and

WHEREAS, this talented team under the leadership of Head Coach John Patton and Assistant Coaches, James Crowder, Craig Paxson, Condell Johnson, Leonard Jordan, Kenny Johnson, Roy Hunter and Charlie Davidson, who are to be commended for their commitment in providing leadership and direction; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the Una Pee Wee Bears football team and coaches on there outstanding 2003 season.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 2003 Una Pee Wee Bears Football Team.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Head Coach John Patton on behalf of the team.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
