RESOLUTION NO. RS2004-125

A resolution recognizing Eric C. Bader upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.

WHEREAS, on Saturday, January 3, 2003, Eric C. Bader, was presented with the Eagle Scout Award at the Eagle Court of Honor at St. Henry Church; and

WHEREAS, the Eagle is the highest rank of recognition offered in Scouting; and

WHEREAS, a candidate for the rank of Eagle Scout one must complete a rigorous program of training and demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques; and

WHEREAS, Eric C. Bader a valued member of Boy Scout Troop 6, is a dedicated young man who has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts through his active participation in the many programs sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, Eric’s service project was working with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency in their conservation efforts. He organized and assembled over 26 bird nestboxes in enlisting the help of adults and youth the project took a combined 150 hours of work; and

WHEREAS, Eric is a sophomore at Montgomery Bell Academy, a member of their Service Club, the Secretary of his class, a member of the JV Lacrosse team and Gold Award winner of the Scholastic Art contest which enabled his piece of art to be sent to New York City for judging; and

WHEREAS, Eric is a member of the St. Henry CYO Youth Commission, an avid outdoorsman, Board member of Kids for a Clean Environment youth environmental club, has worked with Senior Citizen’s Inc., for at least seven years, and along with the family, he has delivered Meals on Wheels to elderly shut-ins during the holidays; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Eric C. Bader for his diligence, determination, and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Eric C. Bader upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Eric C. Bader.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
