RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-98


A resolution approving a grant from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, to the Metropolitan Board of Health to provide outreach on breast cancer and mammograms to Bridges to Care participants.


Whereas, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed forty thousand dollars ($40,000) to the Metropolitan Board of Health to provide outreach on breast cancer and mammograms to Bridges to Care participants specifically to women forty years of age and older in the Hispanic and African American community.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, to the Department of Health of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide outreach on breast cancer and mammograms to Bridges to Care participants, specifically to women forty years of age and older in the Hispanic and African American community, in an amount not to exceed forty thousand dollars ($40,000) and for a term beginning on April 1, 2003 and continuing through March 31, 2004, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution, be and the same is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Department of Health in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
