RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-96

A resolution approving a grant agreement for $1,597,400 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Health Department, for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program for the provision of nutritious food to low income women, infants and children.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That a grant agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Health Department, in an amount not to exceed $1,597,400 for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program to provide nutritious food to low income women, infants and children, and for a term commencing on October 1, 2003, and extending through September 30, 2004, which contract is attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution, be and the same is approved.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Department of Health in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
