RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-93


A resolution approving a grant from the Alcohol and Drug Council of Middle Tennessee, Inc. to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Juvenile Court for a Community/Juvenile Court liaison project.


Whereas, the Alcohol and Drug Council of Middle Tennessee, Inc., has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed thirty thousand one hundred fourteen dollars ($30,114) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Juvenile Court for a Community/Juvenile Court liaison project; and

Whereas, the project will fund personnel to function as a liaison between neighborhood families and their children; and

Whereas, the employees will work with the SISTER program at Meharry Medical College and Metro schools to provide non-traditional personalized, relationship building; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the Alcohol and Drug Council of Middle Tennessee, Inc. and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through Juvenile Court, for a Community/Juvenile Court liaison project, in an amount not to exceed thirty thousand one hundred fourteen dollars ($30,114) a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. The amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the budget of the Juvenile Court in the current fiscal year budget based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
