RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-81
A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and
settle the claim of Lonzie Wade against the Metropolitan Government (Lonzie
Wade v. Metropolitan Government, Circuit Court 02C-2973) for an amount
not to exceed $12,000.00 and directing that this amount be paid from
the Metro Parks Self-Insured Liability account.
WHEREAS, on October 30, 2001, Lonzie Wade was playing basketball at the Antioch
Community Center, and slipped through a pane of glass situated in close proximity
to the basketball goal causing injuries to his left arm, wrist and hand;
and,
WHEREAS, after investigation, the Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government, and recommends that the claim be compromised and settled, and that this amount be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1: The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the claim of Lonzie Wade in an amount not to exceed $12,000. Said amount shall be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Account.
Section 2: This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
RESOLUTION NO. BL2003-81
Mr. President:
I move to amend Resolution No. BL2003-81 as follows:
That the word “Parks” in the sixth line of the caption of Resolution
No. BL2003-81 be deleted so that the caption reads:
A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the claim of Lonzie Wade against the Metropolitan Government (Lonzie Wade v. Metropolitan Government, Circuit Court 02C-2973) for an amount not to exceed $12,000.00 and directing that this amount be paid from the Metro Self-Insured Liability Account.
