RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-78

A resolution accepting a grant agreement between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program Services.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth has awarded a grant in the amount of five hundred twenty five thousand eight hundred ninety four dollars ($525,894) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to be used and maintained by the Juvenile Court of Davidson County for the provision of Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program Services; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and its citizens that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant in the amount of five hundred twenty five thousand eight hundred ninety four dollars ($525,894) from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program Services, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County shall provide a cash match of fifty eight thousand four hundred thirty three dollars ($58,433).

Section 3. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to Juvenile Court in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
