RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-66
A resolution setting a public hearing on amending and extending the License
and Franchise Agreement of Nashville Gas Company.
WHEREAS, Nashville Gas Company currently operates in Metropolitan Nashville
and Davidson County pursuant to a license and franchise agreement; and
WHEREAS, unless extended, the existing franchise agreement will expire on May 2, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. BL2003-36, currently pending with the Metropolitan Council, would amend and extend the existing franchise agreement with Nashville Gas Company; and
WHEREAS, Section 17.01 of the Charter of the Metropolitan Government requires a public hearing on the ordinance amending and extending the license and franchise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That at the meeting of the Metropolitan Council to be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at 7:00 p.m., in the Metropolitan Council Chamber on the first floor of the Old Ben West Library and City Hall, the Council shall conduct a public hearing relative to the adoption of Ordinance No. BL2003-36 that amends and extends the license and franchise agreement with Nashville Gas Company.
Section 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk be and is hereby directed to have published in The Tennessean, being a newspaper of general circulation in Nashville, Tennessee, a legal notice declaring a public hearing will be held at the time and place aforesaid in the manner prescribed by law.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
