RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-39

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the acquisition of ten residential structures in a repetitive flood hazard area under the hazard mitigation project.

Whereas, Ordinance No. BL2001-646 approved a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, in an amount not to exceed one hundred ten thousand three hundred ten dollars ($110,310) for the acquisition of ten residential structures in a repetitive flood hazard area under the hazard mitigation project; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend the grant by increasing the grant by four thousand seven hundred thirty six ($4,736) dollars for a total grant award of one hundred fifteen thousand forty six ($115,046) dollars; and

Whereas, Ordinance No. BL2001-646 provided that the grant can be amended by resolution receiving twenty-one (21) affirmative votes; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. That the amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency for the acquisition of ten residential structures in a repetitive flood hazard area under the hazard mitigation project which amendment increases the grant award by four thousand seven hundred thirty six ($4,736) dollars for a total grant award of one hundred fifteen thousand forty six ($115,046) dollars, be and the same is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said Amendment.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Office of Emergency Management in the current fiscal year budget based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
