RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-29

A resolution proclaiming October 25, 2003, through October 31, 2003, as “Nashville Magic Week”.

WHEREAS, “Nashville Magic Week” will coincide with celebrations across the country of “National Magic Week”; and

WHEREAS, magic is alive in Nashville as both an art form and entertainment; and

WHEREAS, the foursome of John Pyka, Scott Cantrell, Jason Michaels and Nelson Griswold all members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and/or the Society of American Magicians, perform “Music City Magic” on Monday evenings at Miss Marple’s Dinner Theatre; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of “Nashville Magic Week” we will be performing for patients at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital throughout the week; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes “Nashville Magic Week”.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as proclaiming October 25, 2003, through October 31, 2003, as “Nashville Magic Week”.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Nelson Griswold.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
