RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-26
A resolution approving an interagency agreement between the United States Geological
Survey and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County
for digital orthophoto quad imagery.
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, § 12-9-101, et seq., provides for interagency agreements for the purpose of cooperating with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage; and
WHEREAS, the National Imagery and Mapping Agency desires the acquisition of existing digital orthophoto quad format imagery for the Davidson County, Tennessee area for Homeland Security data development activities; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government in March of 2003 acquired color, high resolution digital orthophoto quad format images of the Davidson County, Tennessee area; and
WHEREAS, the United States Geological Survey, acting on behalf of the National
Imagery and Mapping Agency, has agreed to provide $35,000 to the Metropolitan
Government to obtain the digital orthophoto quad format images of the Davidson
County Tennessee area; and
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County that this interagency agreement be adopted
by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT
OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the interagency
agreement (attached hereto and designated as “Exhibit A”) between the United States Geological Survey and
The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, pursuant to Tennessee
Code Annotated § 12-9-101, et seq., is hereby approved, and the appropriate
Metropolitan Government officials are authorized to execute same.
Section 2. That upon receipt of the $35,000 purchase order, or similar tender
of payment, from the United States Geological Survey, the Metropolitan Government
will provide the digital orthophoto quad format images of the Davidson County
Tennessee area to the United States Geological Survey.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
