RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-20

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission for homemaker services.

Whereas, Resolution No. RS2002-1485 approved a grant between State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission to provide for homemaker services; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend the grant by increasing the grant amount from two hundred forty five thousand dollars ($245,000) to two hundred eighty five thousand eighty forty ($285,840) dollars; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the amendment to the agreement between State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission to provide homemaker services, which amendment increases the grant amount from two hundred forty five thousand dollars ($245,000) to two hundred eighty five thousand eighty forty ($285,840) dollars, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to approve.

Section 2: That the sum of ten thousand two hundred ten dollars ($10,210) be provided from the department’s budget to provide the required matching share of this grant.

Section 3: That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Department of Social Services in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 4: That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
