RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-16
A resolution approving a grant from the U.S. Department of Treasury, Bureau
of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville
and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Police Department
for the Gang Resistance Education and Training program (G.R.E.A.T.).
Whereas, the United States Department of Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco
and Firearms, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County,
acting through the Metropolitan Police Department have entered into a cooperative
agreement for the administration of the Gang Resistance Education and Training
program in an amount not to exceed two hundred fifty six thousand thirty
five dollars ($256,035) for the period January 16, 2003 through January 15,
2004; and
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be approved.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the cooperative agreement between the United States Department of Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Police Department, for the Gang Resistance Education and Training program, in an amount not to exceed two hundred fifty six thousand thirty five dollars ($256,035), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Metropolitan Police Department in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
