RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-106


A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center to provide Families First support services.


Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed one million one hundred fifty three thousand sixty six dollars and ninety-seven cents ($1,153,066.97) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center to provide Families First support services and that grant was approved by Resolution No. RS2003-1456; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend the grant contract by reducing the grant award to one million one hundred twenty eight thousand seven hundred thirty six dollars and twenty-five cents ($1,128,736.25) which reflects the removal of extended transportation services from the award; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant amendment by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center to provide Families First support services, which amendment reduces the grant award to one million one hundred twenty eight thousand seven hundred thirty six dollars and twenty-five cents ($1,128,736.25) which reflects the removal of extended transportation services, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Nashville Career Advancement Center in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
